Features

Each tablet contains 10 mg of loratadine

Indications 

• symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis
• chronic idiopathic urticaria

How to use :

The dose of this medicine will be different for different patients and always the doctor tells how to use the medicine, but the usual dose is:

    Adults: 10 mg once daily
Children 2-11 years (body weight up to 31kg ) : 5mg once daily
Children 2-11 years (body weight 31kg and above): 10 mg once daily

Missed dose:

If you miss a dose of medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Side effects :       

Every medicine by the side of therapeutic effects may cause some adverse effects, although not everybody gets them, if you experience contact your physician or pharmacist.

Uncommon: Antimuscarinic effects, blurred vision, dry mouth, gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, urinary retention

Rare: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, angle-closure glaucoma (in adults), arrhythmias, blood disorders, bronchospasm, confusion, depression, dizziness, hypersensitivity reactions, hypotension, rashes, sleep disturbances, tremor

 Frequency not known: Drowsiness

If drowsiness occurs, it may diminish after a few days of treatment.

Children and the elderly are more susceptible to side effects.

Note:

• This medicine has been prescribed for your present disease. Do not pass it on to others with same symptoms.
• Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription (over-the-counter) medicine or you have had any unusual or allergic reaction to this medicine or any other medicines, foods, dyes, preservatives.
• If drowsiness happens during treatment with this medicine be careful about driving and activities need to alertness.
• Take with or without meals.
• Consult your physician about the concomitant use of this medicine with alcohol.  
• Renal impairment, liver impairment, Acute porphyria, epilepsy.
• Sensitivity to loratadine or any other ingredients in the formulation.
