How to use :
Bowel disease inflammatory:
1 gram every 6 to 8 hours, An initial dose of 500 mg every 6 to 8 hours may be recommended.
Maintenance dose: oral, 500 mg every 6 hours, adjusted according to patient response and tolerance.
Antirheumatic:
500 mg to 1 gram daily for the first week, with the daily dose being increased by 500 mg each week, up to a maintenance dose of 2 grams daily. If no response is seen, the dose may be increased to 3 grams daily. Usual pediatric dose • Use is contraindicated in infants and children up to 2 years of age, because it may cause kernicterus.
Bowel disease inflammatory: Children 2 years of age and older: initial; oral, 6.7 to 10 mg per kg of body weight every 4 hours; 10 to 15 mg per kg of body weight every 6 hours; or 13.3 to 20 mg per kg of body weight every 8 hours. Maintenance: oral, 7.5 mg per kg of body weight every 6 hours.
Antirheumatic: Children 6 years of age and older: 30 to 50 mg per kg of body weight in 2 divided doses. Treatment is started with a minimum dose and increased to a real dose for 1 month. The dose is not exceeded over 2 grams daily.
