Read this leaflet carefully before you start taking Tranzeptil. There may be new information. This information does not take the place of talking with your doctor about your medical condition and treatment. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. 
General guidance 
• This medicine has been prescribed for your present disease. Do not pass it on to others with same symptoms. 
• Tell your doctor before taking this medicine if you are taking any other prescription or non-prescription (over-the-counter) medicine or if you have had any unusual or allergic reaction to this medicine or any other medicines, foods, dyes, preservatives. 
• This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription. 
• Take this medicine only as directed by your doctor. Do not take more of it, do not take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor ordered. To do so may increase the chance of unwanted effects. 
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: 
Pregnancy: Although the pregnancy category of Tranzeptil is B, there is no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Before taking this medicine make sure your doctor knows if you are or may become pregnant. 
Breastfeeding: You should consult your doctor about using this medicine during breastfeeding. 
Precautions: 
- If you will be taking Tranzeptil for longer than several days, your doctor may want you to have your eyes checked regularly by an ophtalmogist. This will allow your doctor to check for unwanted effects that may be caused by this medicine. 
- Discontinue Tranzeptil immediately if ocular changes occur and refer to an ophtalmogist. 

This medicine is not intended for use by post-menopausal 
women. 

Drug interactions: 
It is important that your healthcare professional know if you are taking or might take any of the following medicines: Anti-inhibitor coagulant complex; contraceptives (estrogens and progestines); fibrinogen concentrate; tretinoin (systemic) 
Other medical problems: 
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially: 
Blood clots or a history of medical problems caused by blood clots; blood in the urine; color vision problems; heart disease; kidney disease; liver disease; an intrinsic risk of thrombosis or thromboembolism; history of convulsions. 
How to take this medicine: 
The dose of this medicine will be different for different patients, and the doctor must always tell you how to use the medicine, but the usual dose is: 
• 
⚫Cyclic heavy menstrual bleeding: 
- Adults: 1000 mg 3 times daily (3000 mg per day) for a maximum of 4 days during monthly menstruation. 

- Children (12 to 16 years of age): See adults for dosing. 
- Children (younger than 12 years): Not intended for use in premenarcheal girls. 
• To prevent or treat serious bleeding after dental surgery: 
Dose is based on weight and must be determined by your doctor. The dose is usually 25 mg per kg of body weight every 6 to 8 hours beginning one day before surgery. After surgery the dose is usually 10 mg per kg of body weight every 6 to 8 hours for two to eight days.

Missed dose: If you miss a dose of medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Side effects: 
Every medicine by the side of therapeutic effects may cause some adverse effects, although not everybody gets them. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effect not listed in this leaflet: 
Headache; loss of coordination; pain in chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves; shortness of breath; slurred speech; weakness or numbness in arm or leg; blurred vision; dizziness or lightheadedness; weakness. 
Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. Check with your doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome: 
Diarrhea; dry ejaculation; nausea or vomiting; unusual menstrual discomfort. 
Storage: 
• Store the medicine below 30°C, away from heat, moisture and direct light in the original packaging. 
• Keep out of the reach of children. 
• Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. 
Packaging: 
Tranzeptil capsules manufactured by Karen pharmaceutical company are available as: 
• 
Capsules containing 250 mg Tranexamic acid in a cardboard box containing 10 blisters of 10's with a leaflet.
